happy mornings

jacket, Old Navy; tee, Old Navy; dress, Aeropostale; belt, Gianni Bini; tights, DKNY; shoes, thrifted

Do you ever have mornings when it feels like work getting dressed, while other mornings it all comes together in a cinch?  I know I do.  So, when this outfit came together this morning I left the house feeling very pleased with my sartorial choice.  I'm also particularly happy when I am able to successfully pair pieces that I've never worn together in an outfit before.  This outfit was that way.  I styled the dress in a similar manner this weekend (I promise I'm going to post details...), but this morning came across the jacket and blue tights... yeah, it's kind of my morning game.

Side note: A very happy birthday today to my BFF, Joe! Loves ya babe!

Prep

shades, Ralph Lauren; blazer, vintage; tee, Old Navy; vest, Gap;
watch, Fossil; jeans, Revolt; oxfords, vintage; bag, Jessica Simpson

Sunday I finally started to feel some relief from my cold.  However, since a 'bout of cabin fever had now started to set in, I decided to get out of the house for a while.  Besides, even if I hadn't been feeling better - the sun was finally out!  I mean look at this picture - I have a shadow!  Despite it being a little bit warmer outside, I still couldn't bring myself to go without long sleeves and long pants (I had been running a fever all weekend).  So, I rolled up my jeans and took a hard left at Prepsterville.  Several hours of shopping, three cups of java, and a late lunch with my BFF later, and I felt almost as good as new!

Seeing Green

Cardigan and tee, Old Navy; scarf, Payless sample; skirt, Old Navy; tights, Target; oxfords, thrifted

I actually wore this outfit Sunday evening to my in-laws for a genuine St. Patty's Day feast consisting of corned beef and cabbage.  The scarf was my feeble attempt to not get pinched.  I thought that since today is St. Patty's Day, it would serve as an appropriate post.  Dear readers, I hope you are having a great day, and possibly enjoying a little green beer :)
