My poor, poor little blog.
I will be the first to admit that I have neglected my blog. I love to write. It has always been a release for me. Growing up I always kept a journal to chronicle my thoughts and daily life. In fact up until now my best friend Joe is the only person who has even known this about me, but I have always wanted to write a book and do freelance work. However, between a rather demanding job, being a full time MBA student and planning a wedding (if you weren't aware check out my other blog "Gettin' Hitched"), I have let go of some of the more important things in my life. Things like attending church, spending time my fiance and our dogs, or just laying on the couch to relax in front of a good movie have all taken a back seat in my life. It's funny that I didn't even realize it until I was talking the other day with Joe. He asked me when was the last time that I did something I truly enjoyed doing.
::blank stare::
I honestly do not remember.
It seems that these days my idea of "fun" is either sitting in front of my laptop studying/online shopping (because who really has time to go to the store), organizing the house, or sleeping. While each of these things should be done I'm not sure that any sane person would describe them as their version of fun.
So, that got me thinking about my passion in life. What do I really enjoy doing? Do I even know? Do most people know what they love to do and is there anyway to do more of it without quitting your job and completely abandoning our lives? There has to be a way to make our lives count for more than just a daily grind that we're told to do because it is important. I refuse to believe that we have to live a life of mediocrity.Therefore, I am going on a quest to find my passion. While I know that it will not happen overnight, I am confident that actively working to put the things in my life that I love will help me get there. I am going to begin with recording my thoughts and emotions over the next 30 days in this blog. Since I love to write I will make myself take time to do so. Plus, I just told you I would so now I have to.
We'll see where it goes from there.
